Limbal Relaxing Incisions (LRIs)

In astigmatism, the usually rounded front surface of the eye (the cornea) is shaped like a football and distorts vision. LRIs are small incisions that are made at edge of the cornea (the limbus) to relax and round the surface. These incisions can be performed in combination with another procedure such as cataract surgery for optimal vision correction.
